Dutch-born, New York-based Judith Haas moves between contemporary jewellery and metal painting with a rare fluency of hand. Trained first in Human Movement Sciences in Amsterdam and later in metalsmithing in New York, she brings a sharp sense of structure, touch and transformation to gold, silver, copper and patinated alloys.

Her bracelets, rings and wall works begin with the discipline of craft: hammered surfaces, grids, burnished edges, traces of solder and abrasion. Then chance enters. Through controlled corrosion, oxidation and layered patina techniques, verdigris, rust tones and painterly colour interrupt the order.

In Haas’s work, the city is never a fixed backdrop. It is a living, rewilding surface. Her paintings on metal are not a departure from jewellery but an enlargement of it: intimate, tactile fields where architecture meets corrosion, moss, memory and the slow intelligence of nature growing back.
